Appearance (Hair/Skin/Eyes/etc.): Short brown hair, gray eyes, hard features, scars on his forearms, neck and torso. His facial hair changes daily; one day he'll be clean shaven and the next he'll be sporting a full-grown beard. He also has a huge tattoo of a wildebeest on his back and left bicep.

The Mental;;
Personality: Lawrence cares about his students and his duty as a teacher above all else. He takes his responsibility for his student's safety very seriously. Despite coming off as a stoic, no-nonsense military man, his kids know they can go to him with their problems, even if they're not related to DADA, and that he will help them to the best of his ability. Even though he cares about his students and acts as a counselor for many of them, his relationship with them is one of 'tough love.' He holds nothing back in his class, and will put the children in seemingly dangerous situations in order to teach them. Although to outsiders and even other professors it may appear that Lawrence is simply a sadist who likes putting kids in life-threatening situations, he just wants them to be prepared so that in a real life situation they won't, you know, die. It should be made clear that Lawrence does in fact have a sense of humor. It's just very dry and only occasionally makes itself known.

Reactions/Expressions: Adopts this long-suffering, slightly exasperated expression whenever he's outside of his classroom. When teaching, however, he becomes very passionate and expressive.

Background;;
Backstory: Lawrence had a troubled childhood, despite growing up in a loving home. He was an angsty, confrontational teen. He dyed his hair black, dressed like a punk and picked fights with the other students. These fights usually ended with Lawrence nursing a bloody nose or sprained wrist in the hospital wing. After graduating from Hogwarts, his parents urged him to enroll in the Muggle military. His father, a powerful bureaucrat, forged the documents. Lawrence served in the army for seven years, returning to the Wizarding World in his mid twenties. He became an Auror, fighting dark wizards for another seven years before retiring to become a teacher.
Kind of the 'true neutral' character. Doesn't give a damn about the revolution or about Leydonfrost's drama. All he wants is to do his job, which is to teach his students how to defend themselves. And he will do anything--ANYTHING--to accomplish this...
...anything.
