Alright, guys, time to kick off the RP. I will be initiating the story soon after posting this. Below I am going to post information regarding setting, time and premise. If anyone has ideas or complaints, please share them so we can get them straightened out sooner rather than later.
*Premise:
Eldon Leydenfrost, Headmaster of Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, is secretly rallying forces to take down and hopefully reform the corrupt Ministry of Magic. In doing so, he (or rather the faceless persona he has adopted, known as 'Kreios') has been branded as a 'Dark Lord' by the Ministry, despite not having any interest in Dark Magic and only wanting what is best for the Wizarding World. He has numerous allies who all want the same thing but for different reasons and who all have unrealistic expectations for a reformed Ministry. These motives and expectations include rights for magical creatures, getting rid of Ministry influence (which you have to admit permeates all of Wizarding Society), developing a functional economy, abolishing the caste system, reforming education, and destroying or embracing Muggle xenophobia. Basically, his allies are all functioning under the very vague promise of 'change.' Inevitably, the staff and some of the students of Hogwarts are, one way or another, drawn into his plot.
The main antagonist is, of course, the Minister for Magic. I will be uploading his bio shortly. He and Headmaster Leydonfrost are characters RP-able by anyone, so long as you stay true to the character's original design.
*Please keep in mind that the above^ is a very very loose master plot. There will most likely be dozens of subplots, one of which may end up replacing the master plot. The 'premise' was kept purposefully vague and is just so we can all have a unified understanding of what is going on in order to form a coherent RP. There are no definite scenes and there is no definite ending. The story should shape itself as we play.
Time Period:
Ambiguous, likely sometime in the 21st century. It's up to you guys whether or not we allude to the events in the Harry Potter series.
Characters Needed:
Ministry Officials
Hogwarts Students
Hogwarts Professors for...
Potions
DADA
Charms
Transfigurations
All electives except for Ancient Runes
Heads of Gryffindor, Slytherin and Hufflepuff House
Positions Open for Site Members:
Daily Prophet Reporters and Editors
Quibbler Reporters and Editors
Rules:
Just follow those, except for the 'General Rules.' Those are dumb, so we shall not use them.
WARNING: I WILL TOTES CALL YOU OUT ON YOUR BULLSHITTING. AND I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO CALL YOUR FELLOW RP-ERS OUT ON THEIR BULLSHITTING AS WELL. OR YOU COULD, I DON'T KNOW, NOT BULLSHIT ANYTHING.
Format for Posts:
Really, just follow my example.
Also, when starting a post you should mark it either OPEN (anyone can join with any character, as long as it makes sense), INVITE (invite only, but be sure to specify which members or characters are invited), CLOSED (a finished scene or a single post that the poster don't want anyone else to reply to) or FLASHBACK (meaning it's a scene taking place at some point in your character's past). Flashbacks may also be invite or closed.
If you need to go OOC to discuss plot or romance, I suggest using the Shoutbox.

Rules:
- Unless a member of the BC has stated otherwise, you are not allowed to control the words, thoughts or actions of another RPers original character. A character is considered 'belonging' to a member if they designed them. This isn't the case if a member specifies that the character is everyone's. For example, although I came up with Headmaster Leydenfrost, anyone is allowed to use him in the RP because he is the freaking Headmaster.
- RP should be written in the PAST TENSE. If we all start writing in different tenses, shit is gonna get freaky.
- Keep your knowledge of events and your character's knowledge of events separate. If you know something that your character shouldn't know because as a member and a writer you are omniscient, make sure they DON'T KNOW IT.
- In the case of a duel or a battle of wits or some other type of conflict between two characters played by different members, make sure to discuss (outside of the RP) who is going to win. Otherwise, things get awkward.
- On a similar note, you're allowed to discuss what happens next outside of the RP. Plot is good. We like plot. Even RPs don't have to be spontaneous.
- No God-moding. This should be easy. Your character cannot do anything and everything it wants.
- No double posting. You post once and you're done until someone else replies.
- Swearing is allowed, but obscene sexual content is not. Let us agree to draw the line at groping
- No liquid time. Your character can only be in one place at one time. You can, however, RP in the past, as long as you follow the correct format (see below).
