This is again a relic, and it's from 7th grade (Merlin, I feel old). I wrote this or an old friend of mine's 13th birthday. This poem, if you are unfamiliar, is based off the Inheritance Cycle series, or Eragon. Note that the rhyme scheme is a bit off..yeah..but why change history?
“Timely Fate”
Once in a land, of magic and skill, there lived a young lad, who stalked very still.
The deer that he hunted, swiftly evaded him twice. It knew he could not be trusted, but it shall not escape thrice.
Through forests and peaks, he was lead by the doe, ‘till he saw a clearing near a creek, and strode fro.
He pulled back the string, on his hawthorn bow. He had her now- there was nowhere to go,
But then an explosion, had shook the charmed land, and so the young doe had gone off and fled.
That was the day that fate shined on him, for the stone found on the ground, had luster far from dim.
In truth, it was an egg behind its enchanted guise, and from it hatched a dragon of gleaming sapphire eyes.
But now he must flee, for the king of this land- a tyrant of greed- was quite a madman.
He wanted the nestling, for his need of power was dire, and did his dark meddling to kill our young Rider.
