she was barren ; he was orphaned at a -young age-
she could never have children of her own : : he had never had anyone to h u g or h o l d him (- - but sometimes, when he would ask her to hold his hand or tuck him in or sing him to sleep, she was able to p r e t e n d . . . she would pretend he was hers, and she was his && all was right in their fragilelittleworld - - that - ) he was her t r e a s u r e, her precious-little-one,
( because in the end, God knows that boy needed a mother
and -God knows- that woman needed a child. )
