Elliot Sunderland
Back to Basics;;
Name: Elliot Alois Sunderland
Nickname/Alias: Elie
Gender: Male
Birthday and Place: December 22nd, 1998, Elberon
Sexual Orientation: Elie is heteroromantic asexual. He rarely experiences attraction towards anyone, and when he does he does not feel the need to act on that attraction sexually. Instead, he feels the desire to get to know someone and to get close to them. He enjoys physical closeness, such as hugging, and feels intimacy through talking and sometimes sharing fears or secrets.
Languages Spoken: Fluent in English, knows a few basic words and phrases in Common Celtic, many of the Goidelic Languages, the Old Tongue and Fae
Hobbies: Reading, painting, sketching, collecting rocks from the Cynefin, knotting, braiding, cat’s cradle, people watching, Celtic and Druidic Magic
Strengths: Quick-witted, adaptable, knowledgeable, brave, affectionate, virtuous, stubborn, philomathic, curious, creative, independent
Weaknesses: Snarky, impatient, self-conscious, insecure, unadventurous, hotheaded, bratty half-pint, can’t take criticism, idealistic, moody, meddlesome, sarcastic, has to wear a prosthetic left arm
The Physical;;
Height: 4' 1" (age 11) 5' 4" (age 15)
Weight: 70 lbs (age 11), 115 lbs (age 15)
Figure/Build: thin, weak in muscle, and slightly below average height
Appearance (Hair/Skin/Eyes/etc.): From his father, Elie inherited his oval face, wavy black hair and silver-blue eyes. From his mother, he inherited his sharp chin, petite nose and pale skin. Elie wears a prosthetic left arm with working fingers (they are slow and stiff, but they do allow for a nice range of movement). Elie refused to get a skin-colored covering for the prosthetic arm, so instead it is the typical bare metal.
Health Status: Missing his left arm, weak lungs and muscles do to a lack of exercise, transient insomnia, far-sighted
Voice/Speech: His voice is often hoarse from going long periods without speaking. His speech patterns closely resemble those of someone much older than he is.
Typical Clothing: In public he usually wears khaki or linen pants with knit sweaters that are a few sizes too big for him or dorky sweater vests over cotton button-down shirts. He wears t-shirts and sweatpants at home
Accessories: Always has a book under arm or in pocket (the book is usually the Hebridean Almanac). He also carries thin-framed reading glasses, his athame, and lots and lots of string.
The Mental;;
MBTI: INFP
Personality: Elie’s curiosity and thirst for knowledge are infinite. He loves nothing more than a good book. Unfortunately, his endless inquiries can be irritating to those around him (namely his uncle Kavik). He is clever and quick witted, though his sarcasm and snarky remarks often land him in trouble.
Elie is quick to defend himself and others, but his self-confident and cynical front us merely a defense mechanism. He would like to think that his parents’ deaths make him independent and world-weary when in reality he is just as inexperienced and vulnerable as most children his age. Although Elie has reached the intellectual level of someone years older than himself, he still functions on the emotional level of a child. Elie has made the mistake of thinking he understands the world without having experienced it. There are times, such as when he is put under severe emotional stress, that the extent of Elie’s naivety and insecurity is shown.
No matter how often he may say otherwise, Elie is very self-conscious. He cares about what others think of him, although not enough to stop him from doing the right thing.
Above all else, Elie desires kinship and camaraderie with another human being. He wants a companion, someone who understands him as well as what he has been through and continues to go through. Despite his desire for affection and belonging, Elie can’t tolerate strangers touching him. He rarely talks about himself or his feelings, and as a result, he keeps a lot bottled up inside.
Elie has a bad habit of befriending individuals who come with a lot of baggage and problems of their own. He often feels the need to help people who can’t help themselves. Elie is very sympathetic and accepting of others and their perceived faults. He has the ability to see the good in people when no one else can.
Likes: Rain storms, the Cynefin, all forms of Magic, Mundane literature, art, edamame
Dislikes: Quiet pauses in conversations, small-talk, physical contact from strangers, being the center of attention, violence, aggression, death (especially suicide), prejudice, social media, those who lack wit, vision or creativity
Phobias: Elie fears being completely alone, or losing all of the friends (and even some of the enemies) he has gained over the years. He also suffered from severe nyctophobia as a young child and by 2013 has developed hydrophobia. Elie has a minor fear of undressing in front of others.
Religion: Originally Christian, eventually converted to Paganism
Goals: To keep his loved ones safe, to sufficiently analyze Magic, to keep Elberon safe
Desires: Companionship, peace, truth
Secrets: AND HOW. That he’s a Harbinger, that he’s been communicating with Basil, the location of Doctor B, the secret culture of the Werewolf Clans, the names of several Fae, what he and Dae get up to in their free time, the location of the Sidhe Mounds, the location of Dae’s hideouts, Dmitry’s Damphir status, ETC.
Reactions/Expressions/Quirks: Performs cat’s cradle when thinking, will become stressed and sometimes begin to hyperventilate when touched by strangers, talks like a dictionary

Primary Focus: Leather string
Secondary Focuses: Hand gestures (he used them as a child, not knowing any better), the mind (not until he turns 14)

Relationships;;
Mother: Emily Sunderland died in a terrorist attack when Elie was eight. She was an artist and Magical Theoretician. She and Elie were very close, and her death shook him terribly.
Father: Christoph Dresdner was a German soldier who died seven months before Elie was born. Elliot does not mourn Christoph at all, but he does mourn the absence of a father-figure in his life.
Other Relatives: Elie lives with his uncle Jonathan Kavik. Kavik is an ill-tempered, anti-social bibliophile who can’t be bothered to give his nephew the time of day.

Notes;;
Story: Archetypes
Role: Hero and protagonist
